UNCONDITIONAL CASH FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE IN TUVALU
What We’re Doing
We provide:
One-off lump sum payments of 800 AUD (£500)
Monthly basic income of 100 AUD (£50)
No strings attached. The money can be used for anything — from daily needs to launching local climate initiatives or supporting families.
Why Tuvalu?
With just 11,400 residents, Tuvalu faces rising seas, devastating storms, coral collapse, and economic isolation. Many are being forced to migrate — not just from their homes, but from their homeland. As the country risks disappearing within decades, urgent questions arise: How do we compensate for a vanishing nation? How do we support the people leading the fight to save it?
Why Cash?
Cash is fast. Flexible. Dignified.
It puts power directly in the hands of frontline activists — many of whom are unpaid or under-resourced despite doing essential, often invisible work.
What if financial security was the key to climate justice?
Equal Right is piloting a bold new approach in Tuvalu — one of the most climate-vulnerable nations on Earth. We’re providing direct, unconditional cash payments to Tuvaluan climate activists so they can continue their work, preserve their culture, and build resilience in the face of existential crisis.
Meet our climate warriors

“Our youth are full of innovation, they just need space and support to act. This pilot shows what happens when we trust them with resources instead of just responsibilities.
We always say young people are the future, but here in Tuvalu, they’re the present too. If we want lasting climate solutions, we have to start by resourcing the people who are already doing the work.” -

“This pilot may be small, but it makes a big difference. Knowing there’s something coming in regularly helps reduce stress. it helps with food, with family, and sometimes even leaves a bit for our projects.
It’s not about the amount. it’s about the consistency. Having even a small fund that I can count on each month makes things easier. It helps me focus on my work, not just on surviving.” -
Mesepele
“Beyond the policy papers and summits, there are young hands rebuilding reefs and pioneering solutions on the ground. Supporting these youths is how we honour the real front lines of climate action."
