A Solidarity Mutirão for Equitable Climate Finance

Brazil has long been at the forefront of developing innovative approaches to climate finance.

Building on this momentum, the Solidarity Mutirão is a new initiative led by Equal Right, in partnership with Instituto AYA and supported by Open Society Foundations.

It leverages Brazil’s unique policy environment to shape a South-South vision for financing a just transition.

Grounded in the values of the solidarity economy, this Mutirão is a structured consultation process engaging policymakers, civic society, Indigenous Peoples, researchers, and financial institutions.

This work is designed to influence institutional uptake and international replication in the lead-up to COP30 and beyond.

The Solidarity Mutirão is now live!

After the successful official launch during Rio Climate Action Week, we are pleased to invite you to become a member of the Solidarity Mutirão.

Here’s how you can take part:

Submit a proposal

We invite you to submit proposals on equitable climate finance. These will be consolidated into a Final Synthesis Report to be presented during COP30 in Belém to the Brazilian government.

The submission process is now open, and we warmly welcome inputs until 5pm (BT) on October 10th, 2025. To review submission criteria and submit a proposal, please follow the button below.

Become a member

If you don’t have a proposal but would still like to be involved, please email us on info@equalright.org - you’ll receive updates about the initiative and be invited to any events we organise.
